Adventures with the Weebots is a computer-based, multiple intelligence, Kindergarten preparedness program. It is a unique multi-disciplinary story-telling/re-telling, literacy and science program developed for children in pre- kindergarten to 2nd grade.Activities occur on and off the computer. The Children's Technology Workshop Storybuilder multi-media program teaches children plot and character development through sequencing and editing classic tales. Using a microphone to narrate stories in their own voice and a music database to capture the mood of each frame of their stories, children build skills in context comprehension and publish their own versions of these classic tales to share electronically with parents & friends. To reinforce story mastery, the Children's Technology Workshop Skillbuilder phonics software features lessons, in the form of age appropriate games and activities in consonant, vowel and word family recognition using vocabulary from the story. Dramatic arts and arts and craft activities that incorporate science and technology concepts further reinforce story mastery while developing interpersonal and fine motor skills. Testing and data-tracking are enabled through a motivational Passport that kids love.
